Over the last few days I have fascinated my ears with the listening pleasure of the vinyl records. 33RPMs that my parents have had in out crawl space for as long as I can remember. I’m not saying like one box full, but 6 large containers full of great music all on a 12 inch disks read with a diamond needle pumped through a amp and into my ears.

Most people would describe the audio quality is less then perfect to my generation. Even my parents are looking at my funny, but it just can’t beat the character of these old records. The sound of the vinyl, clicks, pops, hiss and the small short I have in the turntable, adds to the greatness of this forgotten technology.

Currently I’m listening to Boston – Don’t Look Back. I have gone through only about a dozen of these and I unfortunately keep finding ones I like, so progress is slow through the first container. šŸ˜› I have included some pictures I have taken of the record and the stylus playing the record.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Iā€™m sure a lot of you have wondered what happened to me. Well there is one simple answer, school. Unfortunately any spare time I have is spent doing projects and working on homework. If you want to keep track of my doings, I am on Twitter which is on the left side of my blog or you can hit follow on my profile.

Christmas this year was fantastic. You can see all of the pictures that were taken from my family get together on Facebook. After all the probelm with my desktop computer I have finaly figured out how to get it running stable. Turns out all along it was a issue with the OCZ ram. New ram for Christmas and BAM, away she goes. Second gift I recived was a new monitor. It’s nothing fancy, Samsung 21′ widescreen display to replace my 21″ CRT monitor that has seen better days.

Other then that, that was my Christmas. Like I said, the best way to keep track of me is through Twitter and if you need to contact me best way would be by e-mail here. I will be posting another tutorial soon using the old PS2 Head set into a Guitar Pre-Amp and the mic input on World of Warcraft.

New Theme

Ok so I know I havn’t posted in over a month so I thought I would change the theme. šŸ˜› Right now I’m awaiting my time table for college. I’m sure your all wondering what I have been doing all summer and it’s simple. I’m eather working, or siting around doing nothing. I hope when school starts I will have some more exciting projects and some more tutorials to post here. It’s not a matter of if, just a matter of when.

Mac vs PC

A battle that might never end between Mac and PC users. A battle that is won but no one on the PC side will admit it.

The battle between Mac and PC have been going on for years and years. This history behind Apple and Microsoft has always been to “out do” the other. Microsoft I hate to brake it to you… but you lost.

I recommended my second Mac out to a friend of myna who was getting a laptop to do her writing on. She got it in November and has never had a issue with it. My laptop is a little older but still has some good hardware in it. I run XP Pro hooked to my domain at home. Over the time she has had her nice running Mac, I have formatted my Windows based laptop 10 times. That’s right, 10 times. And not only just the formatting but I don’t think any peace of software has worked correctly on it. Even Miro couldn’t play video back with out horrid lag and being very choppy.

Every since the last format, it’s been acting really weird with the file sync to my home server but today was the day it finally died.

It’s funny because I sit here writing this and reading the slides during the XP Pro install.
“Music and entertainment just got better” This is a great line. I have always had issues playing 340kbps music files.
“Now it’s easier to get help — and to help others!” Yeah it’s easy if grandma can forward the ports through her router.
“The computer will be faster and more reliable” Lets just all take a minute and laugh.
“Get support for the latest hardware and software” It goes on about Direct X 9 after that. Does that mean Miro should have been able to play my shows?
“Surfing the Internet: safe, fast and flexible” If you use Firefox šŸ˜›
“Explore your creative side with photos and videos” but they can’t be to big or else explore will crash.
“Windows Movie Maker makes it easy and fun to capture, and edit video” Yeah right. If your trying to make a video slid show of picture, Windows will crash due to buffering issues.

So to sum up. Windows sucks. I’ll let you know how much better it is now that it’s formatted.

Edit: Ok I haven’t even posted this yet and I already have my first issue. USB stick with all my drivers on it won’t come up in My Computer… O look 5th times the charm!

O How I missed my good friend Robert

A friend I met at a pervous forum software appeared on Imperial BB’s forums today. It seems like users are getting frustrated with the going’s on at the other software. So for some Saturday night fun me and Robert thought it would be a good laugh to stir up some shit. šŸ˜› This was said in the channel of the other forum software.
